Below are some guidelines for preparing print files to send us. They are not cast in stone, so if you want any further guidance, please contact us. Please note that Office applications such as Word and Powerpoint are not suitable for creating artwork for professional printing.
PDF format
PDF files are universal and highly flexible and, importantly for us, they the enable quality standards to be carefully controlled. That’s why pdf is our preferred file format for sending us print files, but we accept others (see below). Read more about PDF.
Our preferred pdf output settings
Size: Full size or scaled – if scaled please make sure you state what the scale is and what is the intended output size.
PDF standard: We prefer PDF/X-1a
Colour: CMYK – not RGB
Image resolution: 300ppi at 25% scale
Bleed: 5mm
Crop marks: Yes please
Other file formats
We also accept .ai, .eps and .ps files. If you have another file format, please contact us for advice.
